Boating Careers Immersion Days Open Doors Across Victoria
Boating Careers has delivered three successful Immersion Days across Patterson Lakes and Dandenong, Lake Eildon and Geelong, introducing students to the diverse careers available within Victoria’s marine industry.
At Patterson Lakes and Dandenong, 38 students from Noble Park Secondary College toured Power Master Marine, Victorian Boat Sales, Patterson Lakes Marina Boat Storage, Bar Crusher and Mercury Marine. Students gained firsthand insight into boatbuilding, marine sales, servicing and engineering.
At Lake Eildon, students from Yea High School visited Edwards Built, Anchorage Houseboats, Eildon Outboard Service and Eildon Boat Club. Inferno Marine brought along a CXS for students to inspect, while Goulburn-Murray Water contributed to the day, which concluded with a tour of the marina and a luxury houseboat. Special thanks go to Mike Dalmau from High Country Houseboat Sales for his support.
The Geelong Immersion Day included visits to Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Geelong Boating Centre and Edencraft, giving students another valuable look inside real marine workplaces. Boating Careers also thanks KGM Australia for providing transport for the day.
These experiences help young people discover the broad range of trades, technical roles and professional pathways that keep Victoria’s boating industry moving. A huge thank you to every participating business and organisation for opening its doors, sharing industry knowledge and inspiring the next generation.
