Boating Careers Promoting Industry with Immersions and Expos
Boating Careers has been busy across Victoria over the last couple of weeks, connecting with students, showcasing career opportunities, and helping build awareness of the rewarding pathways available in the boating and marine industry. The team attended both the Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Careers & Pathways Expo 2026 in Mount Martha, engaging directly with students, teachers and career practitioners.
In addition, the team delivered its third successful Industry Immersion Day in Williamstown, giving students the opportunity to experience the industry firsthand and gain valuable insights into potential career pathways. Hosted in partnership with industry stakeholders, the day began at the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, where students learned about marina operations, boating services and the breadth of opportunities available across the sector. Students then visited Seaworks Maritime Precinct and F.J. Darley Traditional Shipwrights to explore maritime heritage, traditional boatbuilding techniques and vessel restoration. The day concluded with tours of Savages Wharf and Penfolds Marine, providing a behind-the-scenes look at modern marine service operations and career opportunities within the industry.
Thank you to the many industry partners who continue to support Boating Careers initiatives and help inspire the next generation of marine professionals. Members interested in participating in future expos, immersion days or workforce development activities are encouraged to get involved. Click here to view the calendar of events.
