From a Friend's Boat to Australia's Marine Exporter of the Year

When Savwinch founder Nick Savva built an anchor winch for a friend's boat in 2006, he could hardly have imagined it would become the foundation of one of Australia's most successful marine export businesses.

Fast forward twenty years, and Victorian BIAV member Savwinch has been named the 2026 AIMEX Exporter of the Year, recognising its outstanding international growth, innovation and contribution to Australia's marine industry.

Today, Savwinch products are sold into major boating markets across North America, Europe, New Zealand, China and the Middle East, with the company's export growth accelerating significantly in recent years. The business has built its reputation on Australian-designed products, including its patented Electronic Fast Fall System and a growing range of innovative marine equipment.

The award is a testament not only to Savwinch's commitment to innovation but also to the capability of Victorian marine businesses to compete successfully on the global stage.

BIAV congratulates Nick, Eleni, Callum and the entire Savwinch team on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to seeing their continued success both here and overseas.
