NATIONAL WATER SAFETY WEEK

Last week marked National Water Safety Week (1–7 December), an important moment for our sector as summer activity increases across Victorian waterways. BIAV’s Katrina attended Life Saving Victoria’s Summer Preparedness Campaign launch, delivered in partnership with Play It Safe by the Water, where the 2025 Victorian Drowning Report was released.

The report highlights current trends in aquatic incidents and reinforces the critical role our industry plays in promoting safe participation on and around the water. BIAV will continue working collaboratively with government and partner organisations to support education, awareness, and improved safety outcomes for all Victorian boaters.
