2025 Melbourne Boat Show Announcements
The 63rd Melbourne Boat Show kicked off in style on Thursday evening, with a fantastic crowd gathering at Docklands for Victoria’s biggest celebration of boating and marine lifestyle.
The highlight of the evening was an exciting announcement from the Hon. Steve Dimopoulos, Minister for Environment, Tourism, Sport and Major Events, and Outdoor Recreation, who confirmed a four-year Victorian Government commitment to support the BIAV’s two annual boat shows. The announcement was met with great enthusiasm, recognising the vital role these events play in promoting boating, tourism, and outdoor recreation across the state.
BIAV President Scott O’Hare and CEO Steve Walker were joined by Melbourne Councillor Philip Le Lui and Victorian Fisheries Authority CEO Travis Dowling to open the show officially. The evening began with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder Bill Nicholson Jnr, setting the tone for a weekend celebrating connection, community, and life on the water.
BIAV extends its gratitude to the Victorian State Government for its continued partnership and recognition of boating’s contribution to Victoria’s lifestyle, economy, and coastal culture.
