BIAV’s Position On Work From Home Legislation
Several months ago, BIAV stated that it did not support the proposed work-from-home laws. Ie that any worker who can reasonably do their work from home may do so for at least two days per week. This will come into effect in September if, as expected, it gets through parliament. BIAV supports VCCI’s request of the government to withdraw the legislation, suggesting it is designed to fix a problem that doesn’t exist. For more from VCCI on the matter, please click here. BIAV itself offers flexible working arrangements and encourages work from home when it is suitable and appropriate. It should not, however, be mandated, and employers should retain the flexibility around these types of decisions.
