Maritime Safety: Prepardness Stakeholder Pack

Maritime safety is an on-water campaign from Safe Transport Victoria, helping boaters, personal watercraft (PWC) riders and paddlers stay safe and prepared on Victoria's waterways. Running from October 2026 to April 2027, the campaign takes an audience-first approach, reinforcing safe behaviours throughout the boating season. The campaign is delivered across three connected phases, each focusing on different aspects of maritime safety.

1. Preparedness | October-November

Build awareness of the importance of preparing before heading out on the water.

2.Summer Safety | December-February

Reinforce safe behaviours during the busy summer period, with a focus on lifejackets, safety equipment, weather conditions and staying alert.

3.Sustaining Safety | March-April

Maintain awareness of key safety practices, revisiting preparedness messages and reinforcing vessel maintenance and equipment checks.
