MINSTER FOR BOATING & FISHING VISITS THE YARRA RIVER FOR 2019 WRAP UP
Minister For Boating and Fishing Hon Jaala Pulford is photographed here on the Yarra with from left, Gary Gaffney (Better Boating Victoria CEO), David Meehan (BIAV President) and Steve Walker (BIAV CEO).
The early morning cruise and fish, which also featured Ben Scullin (BIAV Advocacy Manager), and a few attempts to land a Yarra bridges black bream, was a 2019 meeting/wrap-up relating to all that had been achieved as part of the government's post 2018 election boating commitments. Covered were the appointment of the Minister, the establishment of Better Boating Victoria, the greatly increased boating spend allocated in the 19/20 state budget, the initiation of the boating governance review, the free launching and CTU parking, and the upgraded strategic approach that is being taken.
The meeting was followed up later in the day at 1 Spring St with the first BBV Stakeholder Reference Group. This group is tasked with advising BBV and the Minister with regard to the delivery of those listed election outcomes, as well as generally making boating better in Victoria.
