MINISTER FOR FISHING AND BOATING

Premier Daniel Andrews has taken another step demonstrating his government’s commitment to boating with the unprecedented appointment of a Minister for Fishing and Boating. Off the back of his pre-election commitments to abolish CTU parking fees at boat ramps, to invest all boating revenue into boating facilities, and to overhaul boating governance (boat ramp management), as well the successful Ramp Rage campaign, this is a significant announcement.

BIAV liaised with the new minister in the lead up to the election and is delighted with the new role and with Minister Pulford’s appointment. “We look forward to an excellent working relationship and to achieving great things for boating infrastructure, for boat ramps and access to the water in particular, as well as safety”, said BIAV CEO Steve Walker. Adding, “the Minister has already been involved in some very positive announcements for boating, when Minister for Regional Development, and we look forward to many more”.
