About the Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIA)
The BIA is the peak recreational boating organisation in Victoria. It is a non-profit, non-government Association representing over 90% of the recreational boating industry in the State and includes the majority of interstate suppliers of goods and services to the marine industry. BIAV’s members include manufacturing, wholesale, retail and service businesses covering boat builders, boat dealers, engine distributors, yacht brokers, trailer manufacturers, ships chandlers, hire and charter boat operators, marinas, shipwrights, and mechanical and electrical engineers - all of which are dedicated to the continuous improvement and regulation of the Boating Industry.
BIAV is governed by a Board of Directors selected from its current financial membership. The Association is managed by a small and dedicated team of employees in conjunction with the Board.
BIAV also owns and operates the Melbourne Boat Show (www.melbourneboatshow.com.au - the largest indoor boat show in the Southern Hemisphere), The Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Show (www.mibls.com.au) and Melbourne Leisurefest (www.melbourneleisurefest.com.au - a joint venture between BIAV, Caravan Industry Association of Victoria and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce).
