Marineworx Burnt down

On Thursday 21st August the entire building and contents of All Covers & Accessories(Marineworx) burnt to the ground.

"At this stage the only records recovered are the last back up of MYOB, which was saved the day before the fire. Most invoices are entered electronically, and have no hard copies on records apart from this."

"It would be a great help if members could email any recent or outstanding invoices, and perhaps details of our Account or Customer Number with your organisation."

Fortunately no-one was in the building nor was hurt. As yet there is no indication of how the fire started.

Please contact Linda Osborne for further information.

Rod Smith steps down as AMIF representative

At the last BIAV Board meeting, Rod Smith announced that he was relinquishing his Directorship of the Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF). The directorship is an appointment made by the Directors of BIA Victoria.

BIAV President, Gordon Howlett, has been appointed to replace Rod as the Association’s representative on the AMIF Board.

Rod considered that the timing was appropriate for him to hand over his AMIF responsibilities to Gordon, and he continues in his role as a Board member of BIAV.

Rod has capably representing Victoria’s interests at the Federation, and the Association would like to thank him for performing the dual roles of BIAV Victoria Director and AMIF Director.

Keith Corr steps down from BIA Board

Keith Corr has sold his interests in his automotive/marine businesses and plans to spend more time with his family. As a result, Keith has stepped down from the BIA board which leaves a vacancy in the Boat Dealers Division. A replacement director from this Division will be elected at the Divisional AGM in October.
