JV Marine World Announcement- Yamaha and JV Marine

Thursday, 8 November 2007

John Stav has today informed the industry that as from the 30th of November his company JV Marine World will no longer be selling any Yamaha products.

The reason for the JV Marine decision to dissolve the 25-year Yamaha partnership was made purely on the need for JV Marine to stay competitive in the boat motor trailer boat packaging business.

With the current retail environment and the financial pressures of running a retail operation, dealers such as JV Marine must look at reducing stockholdings by rationalizing the deployment of its resources. The industry is also moving
towards this trend with other dealers in recent times evolving into specialist dealers only offering single outboard motor brands.

John Stav said with new competition now entering in to the traditional Australian market from the United States, European, Asian countries, we needed a company that offered us a boat & motor solution.

The need to compete with the imported products that are now flooding Australia have presented us with new challenges and having investigated all our options the only company that could offer us a competitive fiberglass boat motor package was The Haines Group with their boat ranges & Suzuki outboards.

We need to survive in an ever challenging, and changing marine industry, I believe that with the support of our major brands such as Quintrex, Whittley, Signature and now our new range of Seafarer fishing boats it was the only option that was open to us. Thus we made our decision to move to one outboard supplier.

I now take this opportunity to thank all the Yamaha staff and Yamaha Australia for all the support that they have given us over the last 25 years and now look forward to a smooth transition into the next phase of our business.

John Stav
Managing Director
JV Marine World.
