The Boating Industry Association of Victoria Incorporated (BIAV) is a not for profit organisation and the peak body representing the recreational and light commercial boating industry in Victoria. Our executive together with those from the BIAs from each State and the NT, form the national council, the Boating Industry Alliance.
This means that the BIAV operates in the interest of the industry and of the community to ensure that the Victorian Government objectives of economic, social and environmental development are met within our industry and markets..
The BIAV is member driven, with an elected Board that oversees the management of the association by a small but dynamic staff, in meeting the aims and objectives of the association to develop a progressive and sustainable industry and to promote recreational boating.
Each state owns and operates its own major capital city boat show as part of the BIA national boat show circuit, and most states also own and operate regional boat shows. Proceeds from these events are returned to benefit the industry via the BIAs, which service members of the marine industry and address issues of concern to their respective states. A contribution is also made to the Boating Industry Alliance to address issues of national and international concern. Much has been achieved for the industry and the boating community through the work of these associations.
Membership is drawn from a wide diverse range of marine interests such as:
- Boat and Engine Manufacturing and Retailing
- Marine Accessories Manufacturing and Retailing
- Boat and Marine Engine Repairs
- Marine Distributing and Wholesaling
- Boating Holidays and Tourism
- And Much More
All members of the BIAV are bound to operate by a code of ethics, giving the consumer peace of mind and the assurance of quality service and products.
